A little while back my eye was caught by some particularly creative and functional art that I saw at the boutique Boy’s Fort (see previous post), so I naturally started thinking about how I could recreate an adaptation of  it myself for less cost…

I can say that I am pleased with the outcome of my experiment and have gone so far as to make several as gifts for friends over the holidays and will be selling them going forward at ReRun on NE 7th and Fremont.   Check out the images below – if you see anything you like please give me a shout!  I make them from a hand-picked selection of scrap and salvage building materials from local Portland homes.  I carefully match color accents to your home’s theme and can tailor them to suit specific purposes or highlight specific elements.   Use them as shelves or deconstructivist art – either way they bring a nice element of “junk-chic” to your home.  Price will be anywhere from $60-150 depending on size and complexity.
